Looking back I believe creative limitations were a function of either software shortcomings or a lack of mental discipline. Speaking for myself, in the past “design intent” was not always scripted, the process was more along the lines of “fly by the seat of your pants”. This model worked out just how I originally intended… and I was getting used to that. Keep in mind that this model is also comprised of curvature continuous surfaces. I believe they complemented each other very well. If you take a close look at this style you will see that there are many design elements at work. Thank you Shot.Īt the time of creation I was looking to one, create and interesting style for the tuner market and two, test a few “higher level” surface modeling features offered with Catia V5. Does yellow and blue make green for their transparent materials? Why yes it does! Although the mixing of colors may not be evident on this rendering other tests have proven to be accurate. On a side note, I have been curios about the accuracy of the “coded” physics of Shot. There are more tweaks to be done here for the final rendering but the proof of concept was pleasing. I will admit Shot was testing my patience however I kept plugging away with different material settings and eventually the results were closing in on “satisfaction”. Many of the default glass materials continued to render out looking more like a solid chunk of glass, even with material tweaks.

The initial renderings of this model were not acceptable. The second goal was to continue to test Shot’s rendering capabilities and apparent software quirks.
